What is CBD?

Many members of the cannabis genus of plants produce novel compounds known as phytocannabinoids. One of those is CBD or cannabidiol.  CBD is not psychoactive, meaning when applied, has no drowsy or sedative effects.  Various methods to produce CBD exist that generally concentrate the compound from large quantities of Hemp plant material.  This refining process, and the initial cultivation, play a critical role in the quality, efficacy and safety of the extracted CBD.  But even then, CBD needs further activation to truly be absorbed and utilized by the body.

OMG’s CBD is sourced from organically grown USA hemp, processed and extracted in our facilities in Michigan.  Our clean-tech extraction process and proprietary activation mythology maximize product purity and effectiveness.

Legality of CBD

The 2018 Farm Bill removed schedule I status from hemp and its derivatives under the Controlled Substance Act of 1970.  This means that the cultivation, production and sale of Hemp and Hemp-derived products are federally legal.

Hemp and Marijuana are both Cannabis plants. The difference is that Hemp plants contain <0.3% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive substance found in marijuana. Hemp is federally legal while Marijuana is federally illegal.

The approved legality of industrial hemp also allows for hemp-derived products (including CBD oil) to be federally legal due to their nonintoxicating levels of THC. However, individual states can still decide if they want to allow hemp-based products to be sold within state borders.

Application of CBD

Based on individual preference and needs, CBD and other cannabinoids can be applied through various methods. The most popular methods of administering CBD are topical, sublingual, ingestion and inhalation.

Your body’s absorption of CBD from the application area into the bloodstream is known as its bioavailability. Choosing the best method that fits your needs and maximizes bioavailability will help ensure that you’ll receive the most support from properly sourced and crafted CBD products.OMG’s propriety blend of premium CBD plus unique botanicals allows for immediate activation and long-lasting treatment.
